My last shoot was very conceptual with a futuristic edge, so I decided to incorporate circuitry, motherboards, and micro chips into my makeup and hair, as well as rhinestones and shiny silver adornments.
I wore a tiny blue metallic jumpsuit and pastel pink stilettos. I wanted the images to have a campy, B movie quality to them, sort of a 1950’s futuristic movie poster feel to it.
Below you can see close ups of the cosmetic artistry as well as some behind the scenes imagery:
Behind the scenes.
This is my very dear friend and stylist, Natalie Rose, who was a tremendous asset on this shoot.
I’ve been talking with a photographer about planning a bondage themed shoot, so I’ve been perusing the model mayhem site for deliciously deviant bondage shots. These are a few on my radar. Very well done.
Joaquin Phoenix looking like a creeper, as Theodore in the new movie “Her”
With the coming and going of Christmas, and the new year just around the corner, most of us are looking forward to 2013. One of the things I’m looking forward to next year is the new Spike Jonze movie simply titled, “Her.”
Annapurna pictures, the same movie studio responsible for Zero Dark Thirty, is releasing the film, which will be Jonze’s first solo written screenplay starring Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara. Based on a man who falls in love with his very sophisticated computer operating system, this movie sounds bizarrely intriguing and I’m psyched to see it.
The official synopsis?
“In the not so distant future, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), a lonely writer purchases a newly developed operating system designed to meet the user’s every needs. To Theodore’s surprise, a romantic relationship develops between him and his operating system. This unconventional love story blends science fiction and romance in a sweet tale that explores the nature of love and the ways that technology isolates and connects us all.”
While I don’t care for the movie Adaptation, I’m a fan of the bizarre-o nature of Being John Malcovich and the melancholy tone of Where the Wild Things Are. With that kind of a track record, I expect nothing but good things from “Her.”
To date, I’d have to say my favorite Spike Jonze creation is the 28 minute short film from 2010 called “I’m Here.” It’s a beautifully tragic story of sacrifice about hipster robots falling in love and falling apart. Watch the full film at the link below:
So, eBay is an insanely awesome gold mine of phenomenally good deals–if you know where to look. Check out this BeBe faux fur coat with hot pink satin lining … Cute, right? You know what’s even cuter? The price tag. Read it and believe in the power of eBay: I snagged this coat for $32 … A mere fraction of it’s original price.
The secret to eBay is sorting the auction search results by “price plus shipping, lowest first,” and last minute bidding. Anyone else have any eBay tips of success stories?
This is wrong. You do not hang toilet paper in such a way that it rolls under. How do you fcuk up the seemingly unfcukupable task of changing a roll? No, just, no.
